Swimming Pool Chlorine Tips
- If you have a lot of swimmers, it can be challenging to maintain the correct residual chlorine level. To do this, you should shock your pool one time weekly. Use three to five times more chlorine than usual to do this.
- The ultraviolet rays of the sun break down chlorine. You can maximize the efficiency of chlorine in your pool throughout the summer by using cyanuric acid as a stabilizer at the start of the season.
- A filter can get the suspended particles out of your pool water, but it won't control algae and/or bacteria.
- If you want to kill algae and/or bacteria in your pool water, you must keep a residual chlorine level of 1.0 to 3.0 parts per million (PPM).
Tip: Contact a pool cleaning company to maintain your pool if you do not want to handle pool chemicals yourself.
